Administers, directs and coordinates activities of Patient Care within assigned departments, and is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedures in these areas. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with the Nursing Administration. As a Nurse Recruiter, responsible for selecting nursing personnel who have the necessary educational background and skills to enable them to provide quality patient care for the medical center patients in a manner that supports the mission and value statements.
Also accountable for instituting and participating in programs that enhance the position of nursing and promote retention within the medical center by increasing employment satisfaction and professional fulfillment. The department director is responsible for the oversight of one or more assigned departments or units. Responsible for resource management, including but not limited to human resources, materials and financial resources. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including enforcement of corporate and facility policies, as well as the development and enforcement of department specific policies.
Responsible for customer, employee and physician satisfaction initiatives.
Job Description
- Education:
Bachelor's degree or plan in place required. Master's degree preferred. - Experience:
3 to 5 years experience in area of responsibility. 1 to 3 years leadership experience. - Licenses/Certificates:
Current SC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
