Description:
We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for a flex pool position.
The shift will consist of 3x12s or 4x12s, primarily nights.
The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6-7.
In cases of unplanned absences, the ratio may shift to 1:7.
Weekend availability is required, with every other weekend scheduled.
On-call duties may be required on a prn basis for low census.
This traveler will need to float within scope to meet facility needs.
First-time travelers are welcomed for this position.
Candidates must possess required skills in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry, and insulin management.
Candidates should have experience with rapid response teams and be capable of interpreting dysrhythmias.
Familiarity with charting system experience in Epic is mandatory.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams.
Patient ages range from adults to geriatrics with a diverse array of diagnoses.
This position may involve special procedures and equipment management related to general medical and surgical care.
The unit experiences a daily census of approximately 34-36 patients.
Candidates must be adaptable and willing to take on various nursing responsibilities.
During hurricane season, employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
