Description:

Position/Specialty:
Med Surg RN (Flex Pool)
Shifts available are 3x12s or 4x12s nights.
Patient ratios are typically 1:6, but may flex to 1:7 in the case of absences.
Weekend shifts are required, specifically every other weekend.
On-call duties may be necessary on an as-needed basis for low census situations.
Travelers may need to float within scope to meet facility needs.
First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
Required skills include Med/Surg, telemetry, and rapid response experience.
Candidates must be open to accommodating block schedules, pending approval.

Facility staffing supports a daily census of 34-36 patients per unit.
Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics.
Common diagnoses involve general medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiac diseases.
Special procedures include IV therapy and telemetry monitoring.
Candidates should be knowledgeable about managing insulin protocols, surgical drains, and wound care.
Travelers should be aware that all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season.
Hurricane season runs from June through November, with peak activity in August and September.
RTO must be included at the time of submission; no RTO requests will be accepted after initial submission.
