Position: Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Description General Responsibilities :

The Chief Information Officer at FDTC, reporting to the President, collaborates across divisions to ensure IT integration and compliance, overseeing Application Systems, Database Systems, Help Desk, IT Budget, and IT Security. The CIO fosters teamwork, innovation, and leadership aligned with FDTC’s core values and supports online education infrastructure, maintaining FDTC’s reputation for best practices.

Examples of Duties Job Functions
  • Strategic Planning

Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company’s business goals.

Conduct technology forecasting and identify emerging technologies for potential integration.

  • IT Governance and Compliance

Ensure IT policies, procedures, and standards are developed, maintained, and adhered to.

Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and manage IT risk assessments.

  • Team Leadership and Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the IT department, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Budgeting and Financial Management

Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.

Monitor expenditures and optimize the allocation of IT resources.

  • Project Management

Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of IT projects.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Operational Management

Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s IT infrastructure.

Manage day-to-day IT operations, including network, systems, and application support.

  • Vendor and Contract Management

Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors and service providers.

Evaluate vendor performance and ensure delivery of services as per agreements.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

Communicate IT strategies, projects, and performance to senior management and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department.

Identify opportunities for technological innovation to enhance business processes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics; management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution. Five or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience. Administrative leadership experience with significant management and supervisory experience. Evidence of effective interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to cultivate partnerships and work with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and students. Documented ability to integrate data into decision making to promote effective practice and policy.

Comprehensive knowledge of data processing, information management, and systems analysis. Proficient in computer applications, including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Expertise in IT operations: end-user support, networks, MIS, information security, and ERP software cycles. Strong commitment to student-centered teaching and belief in student success. Strategic and urgent change management experience. Proficiency in addressing complex issues and making bold decisions for student and institutional benefit.

High emotional intelligence. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations. Strong communication skills with various stakeholders. Effective relationship-building and action-oriented. High-energy change agent with clear communication of change rationale.

Supplemental Information Anticipated Work Hours

Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, Friday, 8:00 am – 11:30 am Must be able to work flexible hours.
