Position: Production Planner (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Act as the primary release point for manufacturing work orders and monitor their progress to ensure timely execution.

  • Validate and act on MPS/MRP results through to releasing work orders to the manufacturing floor.
  • Monitor work order activity and ensure timely hand‑offs between production levels.
  • Actively evaluate, mitigate, and communicate delays or supply risks to Manager and Master Scheduling.
  • Participate in detailed production scheduling for assigned products and related operations.
  • Perform escalated expediting when required to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Proactively interact with internal partners—Manufacturing, Logistics, Master Scheduling, Quality, Program Management.
  • Work with Supply Chain (Procurement) to monitor delivery status on inbound purchased materials affecting planned production.
  • Represent the department when a non‑conformance (NCR) is logged on assigned products or product lines.
  • Support sales order kick‑off (SOKO) events with Master Scheduling and Program Management for new or existing customer contracts.
  • Initiate change requests for SAP master data and other general data settings to ensure accurate system signals.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized processes and procedures for the Production Planning and Control team.
  • Track metrics on assigned activities to drive continuous improvement in department performance.
  • Participate in deep‑dive, quality, operation, and manufacturing‑driven process events as assigned.
  • Provide backup to other team members with cross‑training across all products and product lines.
Qualifications
  • University degree and minimum two years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience in production planning and control.
  • Excellent customer service skills for both external and internal customers.
  • Ability to independently and creatively solve production planning and manufacturing issues.
  • Independent decision maker who knows when to escalade to supervisor or materials management.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with detailed production scheduling.
  • Three or more years of work experience in an ERP environment—preferably SAP.
  • Experience in discrete manufacturing, production planning, and control.
  • Experience evaluating ERP master data (bill of materials, routers, and related datasets).
  • Power‑user skills in Microsoft Excel.
