Operations Manager

Our client is a manufacturer of specialty engineered materials used in multiple industries. They are currently seeking an Operations Manager for their plant roughly 65 miles from Myrtle Beach, SC.

The ideal candidate should enjoy being out in the plant and getting involved in the technical aspects of the process, such as troubleshooting when needed. This person should be a strong leader who enjoys developing their team and mentoring young engineers. This position has promotional potential.

• Plan, organize & direct the Manufacturing department
• Work with team leaders to develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets
• Organize and facilitate as needed production shutdown/start-up for maintenance purposes
• Achieve project or department objectives within agreed time, cost and quality parameters
• Identify and resolve safety concerns or issues, including accident/incident reporting, investigation and resolution

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant science degree
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
• Ideal experience with chemicals, pulp/paper, mechanical equipment such as coaters, rollers, thermal lamination, etc.
• Previous experience in a PSM environment is desirable
• Strong background in improving plant operations
• Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder

Salary Range:
Up to $135,000/year + 15% bonus.
