Production Worker

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manually place individual tortillas from stacks onto platen/conveyor at standard speed
• Place tortillas in the same direction and right side up on platen/conveyor
• Perform consistent placement of tortillas on platen/conveyor
• Inspect tortillas for foreign objects and quality defects
• Remove, rework or discard product found to be out of specifications
• Be able to “throw” tortillas at company standards of pace rate and placement quality
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance and punctuality as an essential function of this position
• Perform in a fast paced environment, maintain production and quality requirements
• Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety policies, USDA, GMPs, QA, HACCP, Sanitation rules and regulations, and RUIZ FOODS company policies
• Throw out waste and rinse trash containers for reuse
• Move trash containers to waste area
• Remove food debris from conveyor catch pan and place it in designated inedible containers
• May enter discarded waste information into the company computer system
• Clean out debris from drain basket
• May wash conveyor equipment as needed
• May rinse, sweep and squeegee floors
• Setup and position fatigue mats and stools for other workers at individual workstations as needed
• Refill sanitizing containers as needed
• Responsible for supplying food products to each line to maintain food production
• Manually supply ingredients to filler machines as needed to keep up with food production rate
• Manually refill hopper with buckets of food for pump operation
• Perform all other duties as assigned
