Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring SC or compact licensure, cardiac experience, and current ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of an acute care hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week, 7pm-7am
• Patient ratios are 1:2
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like units may be required, with agency travelers prioritized to float first
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Scrub color is royal blue
• Primary responsibility is the management and care of critically ill cardiac patients
• Participation in a holiday rotation is required
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 276-bed acute care facility
• Pre-start modules must be completed before assignment begins
• Emergency response participation may be required during hurricane season (June-November)
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront for consideration
• First time travelers for this specialty are not accepted

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year recent cardiovascular or cardiac nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) from AHA
• Epic EMR documentation experience preferred
• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility to be eligible for full travel status
