• Setting/Unit: Med/Surg – 5th Floor (Renal focus)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: March 9, 2026
• End Date: June 8, 2026
• Schedule: Days (Day Shift)
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Shift Hours: 3x12s (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:6–7
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; holiday rotation
• Floating: May float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• On-Call: Not required
• Orientation: 24 total orientation hours (includes 16 hours unit orientation)
• Parking: Free parking

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (acute care)
• License: Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Certification: BLS
• Clinical Skills: IV starts and maintenance; renal failure care; comfort participating with rapid response/code teams
• Traveler Eligibility: First-time travel nurses welcome
• Local Eligibility: Candidates within a 60-mile radius are not eligible
• Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment (not guaranteed)

• Provide safe, high-quality bedside nursing care for Med/Surg patients with renal-related diagnoses (adult and geriatric populations)
• Complete focused assessments, monitor patient status, and document accurately in Epic
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders; initiate and maintain IV access
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services (IV team, RT, PT, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and more) to support patient outcomes
• Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration, including activation/participation with rapid response and code teams
• Float within scope to other Med/Surg units to meet patient care needs
• Follow facility guidelines for weekend/holiday rotation and timely submission of requested time off
• Be prepared for potential emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November)
