- Experience: Operating Room RN experience or perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required for onboarding)
- Flexibility: Ability to work across multiple surgical service lines (General, Neuro, Ortho, Robotics, etc.)
- Compliance: Must complete onboarding requirements including background check, drug screen, and health documentation (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, PPD/IGRA, etc.)
- Technology: Proficiency with electronic patient care documentation systems and computer programs used in perioperative settings
- Provide professional, patient-centered care and excellent customer service to patients, families, and the surgical team
- Assess patient needs using history, observation, physical exam, and diagnostic data to support perioperative planning
- Perform circulating duties efficiently and effectively; assist with scrub responsibilities as assigned
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of other team members while responding to urgent or emergent situations
- Carry out nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and physician orders; support intraoperative patient safety and sterile technique
- Complete and verify the Safe Surgery checklist and perioperative documentation according to service excellence standards
- Document all care concisely, accurately, and in a timely manner in the electronic record
- Utilize appropriate safety and infection control equipment; work within or outside the sterile field as assigned
- Prepare the operating room, arrange instruments and supplies, and position patients for procedures
- Serve as a communication liaison between family members and the operating team
- Assist in control, storage, and maintenance of OR supplies and equipment
- Participate in assigned on-call schedule as needed
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development through goal setting and education opportunities
