- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (high-acuity cardiovascular ICU)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Rotation: Required
- Float: Float to like units within scope as needed
- Charting / EMR: Epic
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free
- Experience: Minimum 1 year recent CVICU/ICU nursing experience with a strong cardiac background; travel nurse experience required (no first-time travelers)
- License: Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA preferred)
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, advanced cardiac therapies and devices
- Immunizations: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Deliver high-acuity cardiovascular intensive care for adult and geriatric patients, including post–open heart and complex cardiac cases
- Manage advanced cardiac therapies and devices: chest tubes, IABP, Impella, CRRT, Swan-Ganz, temporary pacers, cardiac output monitors
- Interpret ABGs, telemetry, and dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
- Administer emergency medications and respond to rapid clinical changes and codes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy) for coordinated cardiac care
- Maintain infection prevention standards, isolation precautions, and accurate documentation in Epic
- Float to like units within scope based on staffing and patient care needs
- Work in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU with a dedicated cardiac team—great opportunity to expand cardiac ICU skills
