Med Surg RN - Flex Pool

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift

4x12-Hour shifts, Days (07:00 - 19:30);
Required weekends: every other weekend.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN in the Flex Pool will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. The position requires flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and to float between similar units as necessary. The staffing plan supports normal patient ratios of 1:6, though these may flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical conditions.
• Manage and monitor patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain a safe environment.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as per established protocols.
• Engage in patient education and support for recovery.
• Participate in rapid response teams as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting.
• Current South Carolina RN license or Compact license is required prior to start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Ability to manage various medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and post-operative care.
