- Epic experience
- Patient care skills including Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and Telemetry
Description:
The Med Surg RN will work night shifts of 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts.
Patient ratios are typically 1:6-7, with a staffing plan that supports 1:6 normal ratios.
Occasionally, the unit may flex to 1:7 in the case of unplanned absences.
Every other weekend coverage is required.
On-call duties may be required as needed for low census.
The role involves floating within the scope to meet facility needs.
Previous charge experience is preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted.
Key skills include the interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and wound care.
Additional expectations include managing multiple patient diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.
The position involves working with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
All time off requests must be submitted during the application process.
