Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): OIDD-Pee Dee

Job opening for Licensed Practical Nurse at the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) located in Florence, SC.

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, the nurse will:

  • Provide daily nursing care, training, activities, and treatment to residents at the regional center in accordance with licensing and certification requirements.
  • Administer routine oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications and treatments following protocol.
  • Monitor health conditions, report findings, and assist physicians with examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary living and working environment.
  • Ensure accurate documentation to safeguard clients.
  • Review medication records and complete health‑care records including REO, AIMS/DISCUS, and swallowing and speech evaluations.
  • Perform duties assigned by supervisor, including on‑call rotations.
Location

Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF‑IID), located in Florence, SC.

Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of a registered nursing education program for professional nursing or equivalent, as per Section 40‑33‑32 of the South Carolina Nurse Licensure Act.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in South Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of practical nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safety practices, and anatomy.
  • Attention to detail and accurate technical observation.
  • Effective oral and written communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and in a group‑home setting.
  • Physical capability to lift and move individuals and handle aggressive or medically fragile patients.
Compensation
  • $3,000.00 sign‑on bonus, paid after one, six, and twelve months of continuous full‑time employment.
  • Up to $3.75 per hour shift differential for applicable shifts.
