Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Uses knowledge of patient population in the determination of patient care.

Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Experience
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience preferred, proving initiative and sound judgment required for utilizing the entire nursing process and maintaining established guidelines of care by the policies and procedures of MUSC Health – Florence Medical Center
Licensures/Certifications
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP, card. If not certified in NRP, must be obtained within 3 months.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams.
  • Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
  • Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
  • Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions.
  • Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations.
  • Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.
  • Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
