Position: 7a-7p Baylor RN/LPN-Weekends & 1Weekday Shift

qualifications:

  • graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • licensed by the state of south carolina board of nursing by examination or reciprocity.
  • responsibilities:

    night: 7:00am-7:00pm every weekend and 1 weekday 8hr shift, every week

  • make daily assignment if in charge of the shift.
  • make roundes with outgoing nurse, receive reports on residents' condition as you do your walking rounds from room to room.
  • administer medications as scheduled on your shift.
  • do scheduled treatments.
  • daily and prn documentation should be done.
  • do incident reports and behavior monitor logs as they occur.
  • notify md for any changes on residents' status or any abnormal labs. Receives and transcribes physician's orders.
  • requests lab work, schedule x-rays, dr's poointments, etc per dr's orders.
  • notify responsible party for any incident, change in condition, or scheduled appointments of residents.
  • make transportation arrangements for residents as needed.
  • 3pm – 11pm shift is responsible for documenting weights and report any significant changes to dietary. Receive, check and sign delivery from pharmacy.
  • 11pm – 7am shift is responsible for charting vital signs, check and have mars and treatment books ready for the next month as soon as pharmact send them, fax orders to pharmacy on saturday, tuesday and thursday. Responsible for checking emergency carts and expiration dates on all multidose vials daily. On sundays, 11-7 shift is responsible for defrosting and cleaning refrigerators and med carts, make copies of daily worksheet and midnight census and distribute to designated offices.
  • make sure c.n.a.'s perform their assigned tasks according to facility's standard of care.
  • assist with call lights.
  • discipline c.n.a. According to employees' code of conduct.
  • handle call ins and fill in the shift.
  • assist in admitting and discharging residents.
  • if you have had iv therapy, you may start iv, give iv antibiotics, may do iv push, mix meds for lpn.
  • make sure dietary supplements, not limited to bedtime snacks, be given to residents in timely manner.
  • perform all aspects of bedside care necessary to provide for the comfort and promote good quality of life for residents.
  • may assess for resident death per dr's order.
  • develop good harmonious working relationship with other departments.
  • open a good communication with don, adon, supervisors amd mds coordinator in regards to residents' care.
  • work well with physical, occupational and speech therapies.
  • perform other routine and special functions as assigned or necessary.
  • follow chain of command.
