American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

• work setting in the Medical Surgical unit
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7 with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• PRN low census on-call requirement
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR system

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care within a 34-bed facility
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy/phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line blood draws, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, and total joint replacement patients is a plus
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
