DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2 years of experience and SC or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a stepdown/telemetry patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Weekend requirement of every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities as needed, with agency staff floated first
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active SC RN license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- Prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response coordination
- Skilled care may include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, ventilator and tracheostomy care, and post-cardiac procedure monitoring
- Holiday rotation required
- Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on the position
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Local candidates are not accepted; radius rule of 60 miles applies with non-local candidates prioritized
