Under general supervision, provides direct nursing care to patients. Provides care through nurse-driven protocols and medical provider guidance and directions. Assists providers with evaluation, health screenings, treatment plans, referrals, education, emotional support, and preventative care. Duties include providing diagnostic tests and treatment modalities. Ensures positive patient care outcomes are achieved. Works with other members of the healthcare team, family, and/or caretakers to provide compassionate care to the patient.

Ability to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations. This position is established in support of expanded research activities.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Requires a Purified Protein Derivative ( PPD ) tuberculin skin test unless a previously positive reaction can be documented, no more than 90 days prior to employment (or documented annual testing).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and have at least 2 years experience as a licensed registered nurse in a public health, hospital or long term care setting working with persons with disabilities and/or who are aging/elderly
• 2 years experience with the Attendant Care Project

• Capable of providing individualized training for the participants, representatives and attendants. Must be capable of providing group training.
• Must meet OSHA requirements for blood borne pathogen training.
• Serving several counties of South Carolina A state vehicle is provided.
• Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to USC / SCDHHS compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
