American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

• Medical Surgical unit in a 34-bed hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required on a PRN basis for low census situations
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response
• Additional skills such as IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias are utilized
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration

• Care for a diverse Med/Surg patient population including cardiac, neurological, renal, and orthopedic cases
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available onsite
• Candidates may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September)
• First-time travelers will be considered depending on the position
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Locals are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, with approval based on facility needs
• Block scheduling approval may be requested but is not guaranteed
