General Responsibilities
Under limited supervision of the Grounds Supervisor, responsibilities are to maintain and upkeep the grounds, trees, shrubbery, lawns, pond and fountains at FDTC and satellite campuses including the daily maintenance of equipment to perform same.
Job Functions- Perform work plans for each area of grounds to include mowing, edging, trimming of shrubs, weed‑eating and management of ornamental beds utilizing the types of equipment needed.
- Perform maintenance on all equipment to ensure good, safe operating conditions per established schedules.
- Perform plans for special projects, annual planting of shrubs, trees and flowers.
- Perform plans for satellite campuses to include all phases of grounds management and special projects, i.e., all duties above.
- Perform application of pesticides to ensure that all state, local and federal guidelines are met.
- Responsible for the supervision and training of part‑time personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Requirements- Ability to operate all types of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to identify and correct problem areas, weeds, and pests.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work during emergency situations as mandated by the Grounds Supervisor.
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm, Friday, 8:00 am - 11:30 am
