Job Description Summary
The Coating Technician is responsible for identifying and executing coating projects on gas turbine components and supporting infrastructure technology and productivity initiatives. Working closely with a process engineer in the AMRT and various new‑make and services teams, the technician will develop, drive, and industrialize lean coating programs for new‑make fulfillment, contractual services productivity, and transactional services growth.
Essential Functions- Support daily development and continuous improvement of thermal spray processes for fulfillment, cost‑out, and new product introduction.
- Provide technical guidance and support for all thermal spray activities within the AMRT team.
- Maintain thermal spray equipment and ensure material availability.
- Guide improved maintenance activities for new processes.
- Coordinate with the technical leader to organize calibrations and certifications of AMRT thermal spray cells.
- Ensure developed processes meet required specifications, quality, and productivity standards.
- Support and coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, MPE, design, and systems engineering.
- Contribute to lean process development and lean manufacturing execution.
- Participate in quarterly AMRT Kaizen improvement activities.
- Provide new‑process training support for operators in manufacturing centers.
- Communicate progress to all organizational levels.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in coating technology, thermal spray, protective coating, or related technology.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Customer‑mindset orientation.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
For a U.S. based position, pay ranges from a minimum of $1,245.34 to a maximum of $2,492.67 per week. Compensation may be influenced by experience, education, and skill set. In certain locations, a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary may apply.
