The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welcome all customers and set expectations with customers
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen
  • Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
  • Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
  • Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrate exceptional product knowledge, and use appropriate tools
  • Be proactive, explore root cause of issues, forward‑think, and ensure customers are satisfied and expectations exceeded (solution‑driven)
  • Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities
  • Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies
  • Take pride in store appearance and help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized
  • Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices
  • Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and have a desire for continual learning, improvement, and results
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • State licensure
  • Optical dispensing experience
  • Strong customer‑service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Awareness of current fashion trends
  • Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
  • Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
  • Embrace new technology and change
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous customer service and retail experience
