General Maintenance Tech. III Turbeville Corr Inst, Turbeville; CLARENDON Level 2

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventative maintenance of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, PA, intercom and high voltage distribution systems and equipment.
• Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes material take-offs.
• Requisition s materials and parts needed.
• Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
• Makes emergency repairs to electrical system and equipment.
• Performs on-the-job training of inmates.
• Participates in on-call rotation.

• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

SCDC Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma and five (5) years' professional experience in institutional general maintenance construction and repair.
