General Maintenance Technician II Re-Advertisement

Job Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and versatile construction and maintenance work involving building, remodeling, and repair projects using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Performs framing and finish carpentry work in support of building and remodeling projects.
• Paints and finishes buildings, equipment, and furniture using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Installs, repairs, and adjusts locks and door latches as required in building and maintaining all buildings.
• Installs and maintains plumbing fixtures, storm drains, and sewer lines in buildings and on grounds.
• Operates a tandem dump truck during inclement weather, spreading salt, and plowing roadways of ice and snow.
• Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, which may include extended hours and/or 12‑hour shifts.
• May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous weather or emergencies.

• Six (6) months of trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
• Physical demands: bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping and physically manipulating objects of varying size, shape, weight, and material; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental‑related emergencies.
