This position is responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and building components on commercial and heavy industrial construction projects. This position performs a wide range of rough and finish carpentry duties, including framing, sheathing, siding, roofing, interior build‑outs, concrete formwork, and installation of doors, windows, and architectural components.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Reads blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
- Coordinates with Foreman to configure construction lay out, establish grades, elevations, and dimensions.
- Assembles and secures forms, wood structures, sheet metal, and other various materials.
- Construct wood and metal stud walls, floors, roofs, and structural framing systems.
- Install exterior wall systems, sheathing, siding, insulation, and weather barriers.
- Install doors, frames, windows, hardware, trim, and architectural finishes.
- Build, erect, and dismantle concrete form systems for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and equipment pads.
- Installs form work, place steel reinforcement, install concrete, and finish as needed for concrete construction.
- Takes measurements and calculates the size and amount of material needed.
- Cuts, shapes and smooths lumber and other material according to needed measurements.
- Places, levels, and finishes concrete using a variety of carpentry and finishing tools.
- Smooths and finish surfaces using hand tools, floats, and power trowels.
- Ensures that all concrete work meets quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Lays out flooring, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
- Cuts or bores holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, or mains, using hand or power tools.
- May assist other trades, and/or other craft workers as needed or assigned.
- Inspects work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
- Checks work and repairs or corrects any faults.
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following OSHSA guidelines as well as company and client safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction as well as basic mathematics and its applications.
- Skill in the standard use of tools and equipment of the profession and ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and prints.
- Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision.
- Ability to understand and follow directions, communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles & loud noises.
- Position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery.
- May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Some travel, overtime, shift work, weekends and holidays may be required.
