- High School diploma or GED, supplemented by five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment operation
- Valid South Carolina Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within six (6) months from initial date of employment
The Special Construction Equipment Operator-Stormwater primarily operates backhoes and other special construction equipment in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s stormwater systems, but sanitary sewer and water system work will be required itionally, utilities general maintenance and good‑housekeeping work will be performed as required. The operator works according to established procedures with work being reviewed regularly by the Utilities Management staff.
The operator will work a mandatory week‑long spot on the on‑call rotation for after‑hours, weekends and holiday tasks. The operator reports to the Superintendent and Supervisor‑Collections.
