Automotive​/Equipment Mechanic

MPD Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an experienced Automotive/Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair company vehicles and equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
• Perform major overhauls and repairs on engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Inspect equipment to identify needed repairs or preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Minimum of five years of experience in automotive, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, or a related field.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within six months of hire.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and safely.
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles and equipment as required.
