Under general supervision, the Specialized Domestic Violence Agent will serve as the first line of supervision for a Domestic Violence caseload. The agent maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the Department, promotes public relations within the local community and with service providers, and keeps effective knowledge of all areas of Domestic Violence Supervision, Programs, Policies and Protocols. The agent participates in trainings and maintains all requirements for Domestic Violence Certification.
Minimumand Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses. An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (including Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; alternatively, a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (including Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
Preferred QualificationsIn addition to meeting the minimum requirements, applicants will be required to obtain C-1 law enforcement certification by the SC Criminal Justice Academy within one year of employment (12 weeks, including an 8‑week sequestration at the academy).
Additional CommentsThis is an entirely on‑site, in‑office position. SCDPPPS disciplinary actions are considered during the interview phase.
