Now Hiring! Olsten Staffing is seeking reliable and motivated Distribution Center Material Handlers to join a fast-paced warehouse and distribution team.
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours:
6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday–Friday, weekends as needed)
The Distribution Center Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials throughout the Distribution Center. This role supports receiving, shipping, inventory control, and warehouse operations while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inbound Operations- Receive inbound materials and verify shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL)
- Conduct trailer inspections and document conditions
- Report damaged or missing materials
- Scan and assign inventory to correct warehouse locations
- Maintain accurate receiving documentation
- Transport materials to designated storage locations
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of inventory
- Clear cross-dock areas prior to end of shift
- Prepare shipments according to company procedures and CT-PAT standards
- Load trailers safely and efficiently
- Secure and inspect loads before shipment
- Complete shipping paperwork and documentation
- Stage materials using pick lists with a high level of accuracy
- Organize orders for efficient shipment and delivery
- Perform daily cycle counts
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies
- Help maintain inventory accuracy throughout the warehouse
- Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work areas using 5S principles
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
High School Diploma or GED required
0–1 year of warehouse or material handling experience required
1+ years of warehouse, logistics, or WMS/scanner experience preferred
Forklift, Reach Truck, and Tugger experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Material handling and warehouse operations
Forklift and powered industrial vehicle operation
Inventory management and scanning systems
Communication and problem-solving skills
Safety awareness and attention to detail
- Active warehouse environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Equipment operation and material movement throughout the shift
Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
