Football Analytics Seasonal Intern

The New York Jets are searching for a Football Analytics Seasonal Intern/Research Fellow to assist in research and data analysis-related tasks which may include:

• Player evaluation
• Coaching support requests
• Football research

Desired Skills and Qualities
The successful candidate for this role must have the following skills and qualities:

• Basic understanding of database structures
• Comfortable working in R, Python and SQL
• Ability to join data from a variety of sources
• Skills manipulating, describing, visualizing, and communicating results with data
• Understanding of model building process from gathering data through training, predicting, and sharing results
• Solid understanding of statistical techniques and best practices
• Curiosity and creativity to think of and solve unique problems
• Passion, knowledge, and understanding of football as well as data science
• Organized self-starter, intrinsically motivated, able to prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep learning or causal frameworks
• Experience working in football or other sports
• Familiarity with current public research in sports analytics, i.e. Big Data Bowl

Anticipated Duration: Spring 2026 to mid-May 2027

The salary range for this role: USD $21.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate. Company benefit programs for seasonal employees include: robust medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k plan participation (after 1000 hours + one year of service) with company-match; PTO, sick time.
