Principal Electrical Engineer II

Plans design tasks so both the design and construction will be achieved within budget constraints and schedule.  May assume the duties of technical lead and subject matter expert for small to medium capital programs.

* Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution. Minimum 10 years engineering experience. Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain future licensure is preferred.

Experience:

Must have experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities or Design/Architectural Engineering firms.  Must have proficiency in developing and understanding One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants including but not limited to motors, MCCs, PDCs and other electrical equipment.

Must have experience with all phases of a project including preliminary conceptual system design, scoping, detailed design, equipment selection, equipment testing and start-up problem resolution. (The equipment includes substation equipment, power plant equipment and process plant equipment. The voltage ranges vary from HV(>100KV) to low voltage (480V).)Experience with protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) including coordination and development of relay settings.

SEL relays experience is highly preferred.  Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools, SEL Acselerator, etc. In addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits.
