We are currently seeking an Environmental Specialist for our growing environmental consulting practice in our Florham Park, NJ office. The successful candidate will perform field work including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water and indoor air sampling, supervise contractors and drillers and support the preparation of reports, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigation and Remedial Action Workplans. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.

What You’ll Do- Sample various media including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air
- Perform boring advancement, monitoring well installation, excavation oversight, and remedial construction activities which includes oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborers
- Collect and organize field data in a concise manner
- Support various environmental project managers to ensure the successful planning, implementation, and completion of projects
- Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from the proposal stage, through preparation of workplans, conducting field work, and writing summary reports, to final remedial documents
- BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related environmental degree
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record, and be willing to travel and conduct field work
- Willing to be on-call for one week every other month to support an emergency response project
- Experience working effectively with team members as well as independently
- Strong quantitative/math and analytical skills
- Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to DOT regulated random drug testing
- Working knowledge of NJDEP
- Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, and research and documentation
- OSHA 40-Hour Training
