Senior Client Manager – Florham Park
We are looking for a Senior Client Manager to join Maersk’s Direct Transportation Sales team. The role focuses on transforming traditional shipping logistics into a digital, real‑time, paperless global operation and offers a dynamic commercial opportunity within an international environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage an assigned customer and target base portfolio to secure business aligned with strategic objectives.
- Proactively engage new customer relationships, identify high‑potential customers, and develop them into regular accounts.
- Onboard customers to digital products or quarterly contracts.
- Build understanding of all service offerings and provide integrated solutions.
- Convert sales leads into concrete spots and contracts, owning the lead through booking and coordinating with Customer Service for a smooth process.
- Identify cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities based on customer business models, commodity, and pain points.
- Drive Logistics & Service revenue by connecting with product experts to deliver the L&S targets.
- Prepare and communicate weekly plans and itineraries to the sales team; maintain an active contact list for clients in the assigned territory.
- Respond to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines.
- Provide personalized service and build relationships with customers.
- Ensure customer relationship management tools are updated accurately.
- Perform sales onboarding with new customers and hypercharge.
- Collaboration with ROM/TRADE, Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics Service Product Owners, and Maersk offices globally.
- 70+ customer‑based portfolio.
- Enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Self‑starter, resourceful, great people skills, ambition, and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (written & oral).
- Organizational and time‑management skills including multi‑tasking and prioritizing.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial role within the containerized freight industry.
- Proficiency in persuasive end‑to‑end selling and influencing.
- Results‑driven with ability to work under pressure while maintaining a strategic view.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry sales‑related tools.
- Year‑on‑year volume, ocean volume target and revenue performance.
- Delivering logistics and service revenue on target.
- Intermodal attachment ratio.
- Spot conversion ratio.
- Contract fulfillment ratio.
- Quarterly volume and logistics services.
This position requires availability for a 40‑hour work week during standard business hours, with additional availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including adjustments for global time zone differences.

Salary$80,000 to $105,000
BenefitsFull‑time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match.
The above salary range is the anticipated starting salary. The Company may adjust the range based on market conditions. The final salary will be agreed upon in accordance with applicable laws.
