Job Description: The Borough of Florham Park is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the full-time position of Water Utility Foreman.

• Oversee daily operations of the water utility system, including distribution, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Perform and execute all tasks related to water main repairs, including but limited to excavating, climbing ladders, shoring, and back filling.
• Supervise and assist crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.
• Conduct water sampling and testing in compliance with NJDEP regulations.
• Perform inspections, read meters, detect leaks, and respond to customer service requests.
• Maintain accurate records and logs related to water system operations.
• Maintain and update the borough water system GIS.
• Operate and maintain various tools, equipment, and vehicles used in water utility operations.
• Utilize computer systems for work orders, record keeping, regulatory reporting, and communication.
• Respond to emergencies, including water main breaks and other urgent infrastructure issues, which may occur outside of normal working hours.
• Ensure safe work practices and adherence to applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

• Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class B or higher with Tanker Endorsement required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in water utility operations, with supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
• Experience operating a backhoe and Jet Vac Truck used in utility work.
• Possession of a T1 and W1 New Jersey Water Operator license within one year of hire.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use utility management software.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and as-builts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
