About This Role
We are seeking a Senior Firmware & Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for next‑generation air conditioning products.
In this role, you will contribute to architecture decisions, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and production teams. You will support critical technical topics, provide guidance to other engineers, and help ensure our products meet global standards for quality, reliability, safety, and cybersecurity.
This position is remote within the United States. The selected candidate will work remotely while collaborating closely with their team and cross‑functional engineering, hardware, systems, and production teams. Occasional travel may be required for onboarding, team meetings, product integration, testing, or other business needs.
Role Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement embedded firmware solutions that meet business needs and deliver reliable, scalable product functionality.
- Apply hands‑on experience with microcontrollers, RTOS platforms, and embedded communication protocols to develop robust embedded solutions.
- Develop firmware in C/C++ with a focus on efficiency, reliability, safety, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain firmware using C/C++ and, where applicable, assembly or other low‑level programming languages.
- Contribute throughout the embedded software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, reviews, implementation, integration, validation, and release support.
- Support software quality through engineering best practices, including design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, functional and integration testing, and CI/CD integration.
- Create and maintain software designs, technical documentation, and implementation details for assigned firmware features and product functionality.
- Participate in product cybersecurity reviews and support secure firmware development practices.
- Participate in Change Control Board meetings to help prioritize features, defects, and product improvements.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using tools such as emulators, JTAG/BDM debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related equipment.
- Stay current with emerging embedded technologies and apply relevant innovations to improve product performance, quality, and maintainability.
- Work within Agile development environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git Hub, and related software development platforms.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and review feedback to junior and mid‑level engineers as needed.
