Interim SR Accountant

Vaco is hiring for Interim SR Accountant

Location:

Palm City, FL

Compensation: $31-41/hour

• Support day-to-day accounting activities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll coordination, and Fixed Assets
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  , ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with the CFO
• Assist with cash flow tracking and basic treasury-related reporting
• Help maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Support required tax and regulatory reporting
  , including sales tax, payroll tax, and IFTA filings

• Prepare standard financial reports and ad hoc analyses for leadership
• Assist with KPI tracking and operational reporting relevant to the business
• Provide data and support for audits and year-end reporting

• Work closely with cross‑functional departments to support financial needs
• Partner with AP, payroll, and accounting teammates to ensure smooth workflows
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a Senior Accountant or similar hands‑on role
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in transportation or similar industries a plus, including exposure to fuel, fleet assets, or multi-state tax considerations
• Comfortable working in Excel and accounting systems (Sage experience a plus)
