Key Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper

  • Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Oversee general ledger activity to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial records
  • Support the development of monthly financial statements and internal management reports
  • Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts
  • Provide assistance with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors to fulfill audit requirements
  • Assess and enhance accounting workflows and internal control procedures
  • Work closely with operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple business units
  • Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and broader accounting initiatives

Bookkeeper Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Professional, discreet, and member-focused
  • Comfortable in a hospitality/residential community environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse groups
  • High level of judgment, maturity, and confidentiality
