Staff Accountant - Island Oaks

NDM Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support full-cycle accounting across our Island Oaks Tiny Houses RV Camping Resort, which includes hospitality, food & beverage, and property operations.

This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with GAAP while partnering closely with operations. Staff accountants play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity by recording transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits and business decision-making.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with experience in hospitality, property management, or multifamily environments.

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and year-end close entries
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records for all property transactions
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with GAAP standards

• Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow forecasting
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve variances across accounts

• Prepare monthly financial packages, including P&L, balance sheet, and supporting work papers
• Conduct variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and provide insights to leadership
• Generate timely and accurate reporting for internal stakeholders and ownership
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and operational efficiencies

• Maintain and reconcile PMS and POS system outputs, including room, RV site, and F&B revenue
• Ensure accurate folio accounting, guest billing, and revenue recognition
• Partner with front office and operations teams to ensure revenue accuracy and expense allocation
• Track multiple revenue streams and ensure proper recording of all transactions

• Manage accounts payable and vendor payments, ensuring timely processing
• Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and billing processes
• Support tenant billing, lease-related transactions, and property accounting workflows
• Assist with rent rolls, deposits, and property-related reconciliations when applicable

• Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts
• Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and profitability improvements
• Maintain and enforce internal controls and company accounting policies
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy

• Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits
• Act as a liaison with auditors and external partners
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and hospitality/real estate regulations

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• CPA, CPA-eligible, or CHAE preferred

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in:
• Hospitality (hotel, resort, or mixed-use property)
• Multifamily or property management accounting
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close
• Exposure to revenue accounting, folio accounting, or property-level accounting strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliations, analysis)
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Net Suite, Real Page, Opera, Clover, or similar ERPs/PMS/POS)
• Ability to manage general ledger, AP/AR, and financial statements

• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments

• Strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, front office, and leadership
• Ability to clearly communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders
• High attention to detail, organization, and deadline management
