Program Specialist II – DOE

Salary Range: $40,320.81 – $44,352.89

Job Description

The Program Specialist II handles compliance related to virtual instruction and home education in Florida. They support districts, ensure statutory requirements are met, and assist families and stakeholders across both educational options.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administrator of Florida’s Online Course Catalog: work with DOE IT on revisions, develop user guides and tutorials, provide technical assistance, establish and update district accounts, respond to user questions, and conduct outreach and marketing.
  • Customer Service: first point of contact in the office for internal and external customers, maintain and revise office contact databases, and act as the office workflow liaison.
  • General Office Manager: manage workflow processes to ensure timely and accurate work products; provide general support to the Program Specialist IV and the office Director.
  • Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of professional experience in an office setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with virtual and home education programs.
Educational Substitutions

• An associate or bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience per SB 1310.
