Salary for position: $39,000.00 yearly

PURCHASING MANAGEMENTThe Bureau of Purchasing Management provides product/service information, and coordinates vendorassistancewith Department personnel. Purchasing requests are also reviewed to oversee thatpurchasingprocurement practices are efficient and cost effective and provide the best value to the State.
New employees of the Department of Children and Families willbe required to passa National FBI Background check.
New employees of the Department of Children and Familiesare required toparticipatein a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
The Department of Children and Families ispaid foron a bi-weekly basis.
As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e.High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL:- Review and approve requisitions through My Florida Market Place (MFMP) for the purchase of goods and services.
- Ensure purchases are complete, accurate and in compliance with policies, rules,regulations and available contractsprior to processing.
- Research and furnish internal customers with information concerningprices for needed supplies and services.
- Provide assistance to staff to determine correct procurement methods,sources and specifications.
- Maintain possession of PCard and clear all charges within 3 days.
- Maintain effective working relations with others.
- Determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Work independently and be self-motivated.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Verify data for accuracy and completeness.
This position effectively processes procurement transactions and coordinates activities to meet business needs of the Department, through purchasing strategies, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness byinterpreting and approving purchase transactions for proper coding, contract utilization, cost comparison, support justification, special routingrequirements and available market resources. Incumbent will promote improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness of procurement activities by providing guidance on procurement rule, policy, and procedure to customers. Incumbent will maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased in a concise, descriptive, cohesive, and wellwritten manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- One (1) year of administrative or clerical experience in a professional setting.
Preference will be given to applicants with advanced knowledge of creating excel spreadsheets andan associate's degree or higherfrom an accredited college or university.
