Position Overview and Responsibilities

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an organized individual with the ability to effectively work well with others to support the needs of the Division of Recreation and Parks (Florida State Parks). Florida State Parks span the entire state with 176 state parks and trails. This position is part of the Bureau of Operational Services team charged with providing information and project management support.

This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

  • Serve as the division-wide coordinator for information management activities, including communication, consultation, tracking and analysis related to public records requests and records retention.
  • Collect, manage and analyze division data to support strategic objectives, the Operations Manual and division policies and procedures.
  • Assess project effectiveness and program needs to support strategic planning and organizational goals.
  • Collect, track, analyze and support data management for interpretive programs such as the Personal Contacts Tracker, Statewide Nonpersonal App interpretive element inventory, park unit management plan interpretive objectives and Interpretive Project Initiation Forms.
  • Support the division’s training program by preparing, organizing, tracking and analyzing training materials, records and processes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop resources and tools that support field staff in implementing policies, procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop, distribute and support survey tools used for program evaluation and data collection.
  • Provide organizational and administrative support for the bureau’s projects and program initiatives.
  • Conduct product and service research to support cost-effective purchasing decisions and procurement activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge, skills and effectiveness related to assigned duties.
  • Travel statewide when required.
  • Assist with program operations and support other bureau functions as assigned.

Pay

$42,000- $46,000 Annually (commensurate with experience)
