Statistical Reporting Manager Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience within a commercial Property & Casualty insurance environment, with a focus on statistical and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial P&C insurance products, including workers' compensation, excess and surplus lines, and surety.
  • Advanced understanding of insurance regulatory reporting requirements, policies, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience with industry reporting requirements, including bureau reporting, statistical filings, financial data calls, and state regulatory submissions.
  • Familiarity with insurance rating organizations and regulatory bodies, including managing reporting requirements, inquiries, and data requests.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory bulletins, circulars, and legislative requirements to develop accurate reporting processes and business solutions.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational procedures, system requirements, and reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of auditing principles, data validation, and quality control practices.
  • Experience working with data systems, database structures, and reporting technologies.
  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools such as Power BI or Cognos, and modern data platforms including data warehouses or data lake environments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate projects, and lead teams or matrix resources effectively.
Job Summary / Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Statistical Reporting Manager to oversee the accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of statistical and regulatory reports across commercial insurance lines. This role will lead reporting operations, ensuring compliance with external regulatory and bureau requirements while maintaining strong data governance, reporting accuracy, and operational controls. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with internal stakeholders across technology, underwriting, claims, finance, and product teams to enhance reporting processes and improve data quality.

The Statistical Reporting Manager will provide leadership and guidance to reporting teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure all regulatory obligations are met within required timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee statistical and regulatory reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to regulatory agencies, insurance bureaus, and industry organizations.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor reporting procedures, controls, and quality assurance processes to support accurate automated and manual filings.
  • Manage reporting workflows, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to develop and maintain reporting systems, data processes, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Provide expertise on insurance reporting requirements, regulatory changes, and industry standards to support business compliance.
  • Research and interpret regulatory updates, reporting requirements, and data requests to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies and industry organizations while maintaining effective professional relationships.
  • Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and audit activities to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
  • Convert regulatory requirements into practical business processes, system enhancements, and reporting solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data collection, reporting capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to reporting technology, data management, and regulatory compliance.
