Essential Job Functions
- Performs administrative duties associated with the division provided through the Parks and Recreation Department; creates and updates mailing lists, letters, forms, spreadsheets, reports and contracts for the division; prepares materials and corresponds with vendors, contractors, and the public concerning various programs and events; ensures proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting.
- Supervises daily financial procedures and maintenance as required by operations; maintains accurate records of revenue, inventory, program evaluations, and attendance; collects and accounts for all fees related to program and event registration; oversees and manages contract services and vendors.
- Conducts physical inventory of equipment and supplies; recommends types, quantities, and vendors for new equipment; makes authorized purchases with Recreation Coordinator approval.
- Performs miscellaneous duties such as answering phones, typing correspondence, running errands, picking up supplies, and helping to set up facilities for operations; assists the public at a counter, providing information on departmental operations, programs, and events.
- Troubleshoots issues and problems as they arise for tasks associated with the position and division responsibilities, applying professional knowledge and the policies, procedures, and philosophies of the division and department.
- Represents the Town at various events and meetings.
- Directs, coordinates, and supervises town-sponsored and community-wide special events; provides support to the division as needed, including programming, planning, securing equipment, and setting up and tearing down events.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in recreational programs in governmental, non‑profit, or voluntary settings; or one (1) year of experience supplemented by college‑level coursework in recreational programming or a related field.
- A valid Class "E" State of Florida driver’s license and a good driving record.
Employee must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.
