The Learning Tree at Pines of Sarasota is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Teacher in the toddler room.
The Teacher reports to the Childcare Director and is responsible for planning and directing activities for infants that meet the care and developmental needs of each child.
Position is Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm / 8 am
-4:30pm
- Personally provide care and comfort to the children as per the parent’s wishes and Pines Childcare Center policies.
- Deliver activities to assure the basic educational needs of the children are met.
- Follow daily classroom schedules to assure achievement of goals and plans
- Maintain an environment that promotes good health, safety and cleanliness.
- Monitor the play of children as appropriate.
- Helps plan and participates in parent/child functions.
- Assesses the children's development twice a year and confers with parents to report same.
- Notifies Director of any child’s physical or emotional challenges for referral to the proper social services agency.
The ideal Teacher in our child care facility will meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year formal education or training in early childhood education.
- Must have a minimum of six months in an early childhood setting.
- Must have completed a 40-hour state/county childcare training course and 5 hours literacy training.
- Must be of “good moral character” as determined by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
- Must be certified in first aid and CPR.
