Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist, support, and collaborate on the management and execution of a project safely and profitably. The candidate will work with their assigned project manager to help achieve project management objectives.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement project execution strategies.
- Maintain and communicate various project performance metrics and analytics.
- Provide leadership and support to functional area managers.
- Support forecasting and reporting.
- Act as liaison between the superintendent and subcontractors to coordinate delivery dates of materials.
- Interpret designs and drawings; prepare takeoffs.
- Assist in project close‑out activities.
- Work with subcontractors and vendors.
- Foster and maintain favorable relationships with project stakeholders.
- Market and promote the Superior Construction brand.
- Assist with the leadership and development of team members.
- Foster and maintain a safe work environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
This position will have direct reports and supervisory responsibilities.

- BS in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
- 3‑4 years of industry experience on road or bridge projects.
- Field‑based project execution experience.
- Field‑based leadership experience.
- Knowledge of route surveying and scheduling.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Safety‑trained supervisor construction certification.
- Viewpoint experience is a plus.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license.
Work will be conducted on heavy civil and highway construction sites that may involve high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, inclement weather, heat, humidity, dust, and asphalt exposure. The employee must be able to navigate rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, work over and on water, and have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
Position DetailsFull‑time exempt position. Requires occasional long hours, holidays, and weekend work. Up to 15% travel.
