Senior Estimator
Senior Estimator experience within a heavy industrial construction environment. Self-perform construction background with experience estimating direct labor, equipment, production rates, and field execution. Strong industrial concrete estimating experience including foundations, structural concrete, slabs, piers, equipment foundations, and containment structures. Strong industrial civil estimating experience including excavation, grading, site development, drainage, paving, and underground utilities. Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, material, subcontract, and indirect cost estimates.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, work sequencing, execution planning, and industrial construction operations. Experience working directly with suppliers, bid packages, and bid evaluations. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical construction documents.
Develop detailed estimates for large industrial construction projects with significant civil and concrete scopes. Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, structural, civil, underground utility, and industrial scopes of work. Estimate labor, equipment, material, subcontract, and indirect costs. Develop labor productivities, crew compositions, equipment requirements, and production rates for self-perform civil and concrete work. Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify project risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and evaluate pricing proposals. Support bid reviews, bid adjudication meetings, and estimate presentations. Assist with execution planning, work sequencing, and project scheduling activities. Evaluate means and methods for large-scale industrial concrete placement and civil construction activities. Participate in project turnover meetings and support awarded projects with budgets and change orders. Collaborate with project management, engineering, operations, vendors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
