Position Summary:

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of assigned mechanical construction projects. This position provides leadership to Foremen and field personnel to ensure mechanical systems are installed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and company objectives.

The Mechanical Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for assigned projects and is responsible for workforce planning, productivity, safety, project documentation, customer relations, and coordination with Project Managers, customers, vendors, inspectors, and other trades. This position provides technical oversight of mechanical installations and exercises independent judgment in directing field operations to ensure the successful performance of assigned projects.

• Plan, organize, direct, and oversee all field operations for assigned projects to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable project execution.
• Provide leadership and supervision to Foremen and field personnel, including workforce planning, labor allocation, employee development, performance management, and staffing recommendations.
• Coordinate and direct the activities of Foremen and field crews to ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and company expectations.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to develop and execute field work plans.
• Monitor project progress, labor productivity, manpower utilization, work quality, and overall project performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, fabrication activities, equipment utilization, and jobsite logistics to support project schedules and operational requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Foremen to identify and address schedule impacts, labor needs, material issues, change orders, project risks, and productivity opportunities.
• Serve as the primary field contact for customers, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinate project activities with other trades to maintain workflow and minimize delays and conflicts.
• Enforce company safety policies, conduct safety observations, participate in investigations, and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.
• Ensure employee time records, production reporting, project reports, safety documentation, inspections, and other required project documentation are completed accurately and submitted timely in accordance with company and project requirements.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed across assigned projects.
• Oversee the installation of HVAC piping, hydronic systems, chilled water systems, heating water systems, condenser water systems, refrigeration piping, industrial piping, and related mechanical systems.
• Coordinate and oversee piping fabrication, prefabrication, equipment setting, testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, spool drawings, and coordination documents to ensure accurate field execution and resolve constructability, installation, and field coordination challenges.
