Editor & Producer

Responsibilities

• Edit video, ingest video feeds, and work with multiple news operations (including Univision Network News) to efficiently move content between different points.
• Work closely with Assignment Managers, Executive Producers, and Producers at local stations across the country to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news.
• Work closely with Network News and Vix Noticias 24/7 to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news.
• Gather information about developing news stories and handle all inquiries and requests from local and network teams.
• Collaborate with local stations to identify, edit, caption and upload content to multiple digital platforms.
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism/Mass Communications.
• Must be fully bilingual Spanish/English, both written and spoken.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and during natural disasters such as hurricanes.
• Knowledge of iNews, video editing (such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), and file sharing systems.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other non-editing business applications.
• Familiar with video and wire services.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Must be willing to work from office in Miami.
