Role Description The Lead Event Technician / Experienced Lighting (LD) & Graphics professional is responsible for overseeing on-site technical execution for live events, with a primary focus on lighting design and show graphics. This full-time, on-site role is based in Sarasota, FL and involves setting up, operating, and striking audio visual systems, including lighting rigs, projection, and video playback and graphics equipment.

Day-to-day tasks include interpreting event plots and run-of-show documents, programming and operating lighting consoles, managing visual content and presentations, and coordinating equipment logistics. The role also involves leading technical crews, collaborating with clients and event planners, troubleshooting issues in real time, and ensuring all technical elements meet safety standards and deliver a polished event experience.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Audio Visual (AV) Systems and Projectors, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance.
• Hands-on skills in Lighting design and operation, including programming lighting consoles and managing fixtures for diverse event types.
• Experience with Video Conferencing platforms and integration into live event workflows.
• Advanced Troubleshooting abilities for AV, lighting, and projection systems under time-sensitive conditions.
• Prior experience in live event production, preferably in conferences, corporate events, or special events.
• Ability to lead and coordinate technical crews, communicate clearly with clients and team members, and follow event schedules and technical riders.
• Comfort with physical aspects of the role, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in fast-paced event environments while following safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours based on event schedules.
• Beneficial:
